Climate Change is supposed to result in mass extinctions.  During the Holocene, extinctions are rare and are largely due to loss of habitat or predation.  Extinctions are a frequently listed consequence of global warming.  There are a number of reports of “maybe” extinctions that keep popping up, all related to climate change.
